Good morning readers...

Today I share a story with you that I wish I didn't have to share. Please pay close attention to what my friend Bob Perks asks you to do at the end of the story today...

From my family to yours,

"The Most Difficult Thing to Write About"

By Bob Perks

It had been a long difficult week.  Like sitting next to a time bomb, praying that it would never go off.  Seconds churned slowly, painfully like dripping acid on my mind. Hours seemed like days until suddenly it was all over.

It was one of those things that seem unreal.  Like having a bad dream you hope you'll wake up from, but you don't.  I can remember anxiously waiting for the final word and yet, hearing it, I still could not accept it.  That is until she turned to me with tears in her eyes, then shaking her head she whispered, "yes.".

I had no idea how to react.  I stood up and headed to the front door slamming my fist into it screaming, "NO!"

I gazed out my window and the world suddenly turned black.

I could hear her crying as she continued her conversation on the phone.  I felt selfish standing there when I needed to be next to her.  I returned to the table and sat with my head in my hands, listening as her conversation continued.

When she hung up the phone we embraced, weeping openly, holding, squeezing each other as if never letting go would make it all go away.

The evening was unusually silent.  No television to make us laugh or music that normally would lift our souls.  Later, trying to fall asleep, we tossed and turned in bed.  I felt like I was smothering.  I needed to get up periodically to try and catch my breath.

Like clockwork, our two dogs awakened on schedule at 5:00 a.m.

I was eager to get up so I rushed out of the room closing the door so she could sleep a little longer.

The dark days of Autumn found me standing in the spot light at the top of the driveway.  Watching the dogs so they didn't run off, I was feeling empty and out of touch with reality.

"Maybe this is a dream," I thought to myself.

Earlier that evening there was a steady, gentle rain.  The leaves that longed to let go of the two huge trees just behind our house, had fallen overnight.  Ricky and Lucy waded through them like fresh fallen snow.

Out of the corner of my eye I saw someone standing there.

It startled me.

Up to her ankles, barefoot in yellow and gold leaves stood my wife, Marianne. She was beautifully wrapped in a full white fuzzy robe that draped down to the ground.

She looked like an angel.

We stood a few feet apart just looking at each other, that is until she began to cry again.

It wasn't a dream at all.

This is the most difficult thing for me to write about.

My wife Marianne has...breast cancer.

Please, please oh, God...please pray for her.

Marianne's cancer is invasive lobular carcinoma.
A favor to ask...Please...If you could find it in your heart to send a note of encouragement to her (please no alternative treatment, product promotions etc.) Just a note to tell her you'll pray for her, I would be forever grateful to you.

Please pray for a woman named Linda who also has breast cancer...

Good morning Michael,
Please may I ask you to pray for me and my family? We are in The Western Cape, South Africa and are in need of work -- we work on the internet, and in the computer support side and ask that the Lord may give us work for which we will be paid. And may this happen soon. We also ask for the Lord to give us His power in which to stand so that all those around us may see Jesus living through us.
We pray this in Jesus' name.

From the E-mail Box:

Dear Mr.Colson;

All though today is Friday the 12th a day after Veterans Day, I want to tell you that just the other night in fact it was Wednesday on the Hallmark Channel I watched the Special about the Four Chaplains, I was touched to the bone and felt like asking why. But that would have been wrong because these four brave men gave something more precious then gold or silver they gave of them selves so that others might live." No greater gift can a man give then to lose his life for another" I'm sure I just parafrazed that line but I am equally sure you know what I mean.

So today when I read your story of those Four Chaplains I was moved. My husband and daughter and millions more who are Veterans aren't reginized for their contributions to any war effort. On Veterans Day only people who work for the Government get the day off, I believe it is only fitting that only Veterans who served in any Armed Force, whether it be War or Peace time deserve the day off, Post Offices, Government workers(excluding men and women in military uniform) people who have never wore the Uniform of this country or were to chicken to serve should have to do the work and not get this great day off. My husband served in Vietman, and has never been thanked for his efforts while serving his country(he was a bomb loader)not a great call for his kind of work, I have 15 men in my family who all served in the service of their country and I am proud of every one of them, Praise the Lord most who were brothers did not serve at the same time, anyway I want to say Thank You for !
your most heart warming tribute to THE FOUR CHAPLAINS.

With All My Love,

Thought For The Day:

"Why is it that there is never enough time to do a job right, but always time enough to do it over?"

Verse for the Day:

"The plans of the diligent lead surely to plenty, but those of everyone who is hasty, surely to poverty."--Proverbs 21:5

Kid's Thought For The day:

"Just do your best."

Parent's Thought For The Day

"I gave my son a hint. On his room door I put a sign: CHECKOUT TIME IS 18."--Milton Berle

Coach's Thought For The Day

"Others may have more ability than you, they may be larger, faster, quicker, better jumpers...but no one should be your superior in respect to team spirit, loyalty, enthusiasm, cooperation, industriousness, fight effort, and character."--John Wooden

Writer's Thought For The Day:

"In workshops I tell the class to set aside a time daily for writing, even if it's half an hour. Give up watching 'Friends.' Better still, just give up watching anything on the Fox Network. Your I.Q. will begin to increase almost immediately. Now, you don't actually have to write in that window of time. You can sit at your desk and drool for all I care. But you don't get to do anything else, either. And I promise you, within 15 minutes you will begin to write because you'll go mad otherwise." --Gregory Frost

Deep Thought For The Day:

"I'm a psychic amnesiac. I know in advance what I'll forget."

Video Imagery --Michael's Video Production Business

Dear Michael,

I just wanted to take a minute to thank you for the beautiful video you made for me! It was so special to see both of my parents in tears as they watched their children grow up in pictures before their eyes! I loved the way you made Estania's part set aside from the rest--that was the part that really got them! The music was beautiful. My mom kept blubbering, "What song is that?" I don't know how you did such a beautiful job with the video in such a short time. I really appreciate your doing it so quickly. You have a wonderful gift, and I thank God that you are using it to create such sentimental memories. I hope that I can find my niche like that in an area that I love. Your video gave us one of our most lasting Christmas memories! I hope yours was filled with moments to be treasured forever!
