Oh how I love this story!  Kristi and I are always talking about finding a cabin in Northern Wisconsin and this one sounds perfect!  Be sure to give Cori Burner a great big HeartTouchers welcome after you read her story below...

From my family to yours,
Michael

P.S.  Autumn and the great outdoors will be the theme for the next several stories.  This is my favorite time of the year!

Cabin in the Woods

by Cori Burner

A narrow gravel lane winds its way around the bend of the mountain.  Wildflowers abound on either side of the lane, bidding the traveler welcome.  A peacefulness settles over me, as I forget the hustle and bustle of city life; and exchange it for the serenity of the valley.  The little A-frame cabin stands in the clearing, surrounded by forest.  As the cool waters of the creek hurry on their way, my soul pauses to drink in the beauty that surrounds me.  The misty blue mountains encircle the cabin, enveloped in the fog that has settled over the valley after the midnight rain.  The morning sun trying to peek through the clouds and chase away the gloominess of the fog.  It's peaceful here.  It makes my soul rejoice as I hear the sounds of the wild birds; as they sing their morning songs of praise for the new day.  All rejoicing in reverence for the beauty the Lord has made.

The cabin stands as a legacy of love.  It was built some twenty plus years ago by my aunt, uncle, and their four daughters.  Their love for God and family is evidenced in the cabin.  From the hammer marks on the wood near the nails, to the red gingham curtains hung at the windows; all lovingly and painstakingly created.  The Bible lays on the table, open to a passage of scripture; reminding us of the great love God has for all His children.  Family values abound in the peaceful little cabin.  It's a place where family gathers for reunions on a hot summer day.  Grandchildren come and play in the creek; as the grown-ups sit under the shade and chat.  Time spent in the winter, as family gathered around a tiny Christmas tree.  Packages are exchanged, and love abounding; as the gentle snow begins to fall.

Coming here brings a peace to my soul and a reflection of the enduring values so often overlooked in the rushing of day to day life.  It's a time to reflect upon my own family and their importance in my life. A time to reflect upon God and His wondrous blessings upon me.  A time to enjoy the peaceful sounds, and bask in the beauty that surrounds me.  I hesitate to leave the little cabin, with its simplistic lifestyle.  It makes one pause and realize that the important things that matter the most in life are not "things" at all.

*****
I am married to my husband, Mike for twenty years; and am Mom to one son.  Both are the joy of my life.  I live in southwest Virginia, with the beauty of the Blue Ridge Mountains surrounding me.  Most of my writings are just the ramblings of my heart... a reflection of the rich blessings the Lord has blessed me with.

If you are getting this email and there seems to be a lot of extra "stuff" at the beginning or end that makes it hard to read, or you notice that periodically two words get stuck together, it is because your email software can't handle what is called HTML. If you want to correct this and see the stories in pure text you will simply need to update your user profile on the InJesus web site and request that messages be sent to you in text format. You can do this easily by logging in at http://www.InJesus.com and clicking the "MyInJesus" tab and then "MyProfile" link. If you haven't registered with the site yet, you would have to do so
before being able to change.

Video Imagery --Michael's Video Production Business

"I thought of you first after my family sat down to watch the video we gave them. They loved it, to say the least!  Within thirty seconds my mom was crying and my dad did too. They said it was the best Christmas gift we could have given them!!  You did such a beautiful job!  They were so surprised and so touched--they really, really, really loved it. Thanks for helping to make it so special to us all. My mom mentioned how the songs were perfect for the video too! Thanks again!" -- Kelli, College Station, TX
